Getting There!

It's great to visit the land of my birth - there's plenty going on here... But the US sure has changed. Land of the free, it is not. The fact that non-citizens have to put up with retinal scans (retinal, not rectal!), finger printing, and other indignities is appalling. Seems like America has forgotten to study history: One of our founding fathers and American Icon, Benjamin Franklin, wrote to a friend on (ironically) 11 September 1773, "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." 'Nuff said. The sooner middle America gets its collective head out of its bung-hole and demands the impeachment of Bush, Cheney, and prosecution of the other New American Century Buttlick Neocons who have collectively destroyed America's reputation abroad, the better. Otherwise, it was a pleasant enough trip.
