Innisfree Garden

On the way back from our trip to Poughkeepsie, we stopped for a visit at an amazing garden, inspired by Chinese "cup gardens," called Innisfree, located in a beautiful part of eastern upstate New York, in the rural town of Millbrook. Ironically, there's a charge to enter. It was an amazing restful, beautiful place, not over manicured. It seemed remarkably balanced and, well, sustainable. The wildlife was prolific and forthcoming - it would've been perfect had it not been for the #*@&! state police helicopter that made a dozen low passes over the lake while we were there - talk about shattering the peace. We presume it was "homeland security" teaching young police pups how to do aerial searches for "suspicious individuals", of which I certainly am one.
